10 May 2019

New Life Abaana Choir

7pm for 7:30pm start  New Life Centre, 24 Dacre St, Morpeth

We are delighted to welcome back the New Life Children's Choir for a Charity Concert - please arrive early as seating is limited.

A TASTE OF UGANDAN SUNSHINE.
20 Primary School children from Uganda have just commenced the journey of a lifetime, touring as a choir throughout the UK and Ireland. The children are drawn from across 14 Ugandan Primary Schools built by local charity Abaana. Abaana works with children living in poverty across Uganda. The children will be giving concerts in churches, schools and workplaces and sharing about life in their country.

The aim of the tour is to raise awareness of the plight of other children living in poverty in Uganda and to seek to generate much needed sponsorship for another 200-300 children and rescue more children, who are currently living rough on the streets. The children, aged between 7 and 15,who form the Abaana New Life Choir, are touring from the beginning of February 2019 through to early June 2019.

This will be an amazing, literally life-changing experience for the children, most of whom had not travelled outside their local villages, let alone flown thousands of miles from Africa, before joining the Choir.
