Footpaths Soc: Ingram

4 Aug 2019

Footpaths Soc: Ingram

Start time:   11.00 am

Distance:    5 miles

Duration:    3 hours

Start of walk: Meet at Ingram Bridge carpark. Grid ref NU018164. There are toilets and a cafe at the Visitor Centre about a quarter of a mile away.

How to get there: From Morpeth, drive north on A1 then take A697.  A few miles north of Powburn, turn left at sign for Ingram and Northumberland National Park.  Follow this road to the car park.

Notes:  The walk starts with a long, steep climb up to Wether Hill, where there are remains of an Iron Age hillfort, then it is up and down, with some steep, but short slopes, back to the Breamish valley.

Morpeth Footpaths Society is a social group of walkers from the town of Morpeth and further afield who meet throughout the year for a regular walking programme, exploring and enjoying the fantastic countryside of Northumberland and at times its surrounding counties.

How to join: If you would like to join us on a walk to experience what it is all about, choose from one of the many walks you would like to accompany us on.

During the walk, you will be introduced to other walkers and one of our committee members will be able to answer any questions you may have.  As a guest member, a nominal sum of 1 is required to ensure you are covered by our walking insurance.  Any guest who fails to pay, is not covered.

A maximum of 2 walks can be taken as a guest and full membership would be expected thereafter.
