Footpaths Soc: Blanchland Circular

Blanchland Circular

Start time:  10.30 am

Distance:    9 miles

Duration:    4 hours

Start of walk:  Meet at car park NY 964504

How to get there: From Morpeth take A1 south to Western bypass and join the A69.  At Corbridge turn south onto the A68. After about 5 miles turn right at Kilnpit Hill and continue on the north side of the Derwent Reservoir to join the B6306 into Blanchland.

Notes:  Circular walk from Blanchland over Blanchland Moor and returning by Bulbeck Common, Newbiggin Fell and Baybridge.  Should be spectacular views all round.  There is an opportunity to have coffee and cake at the White Monk tearoom afterwards.

Morpeth Footpaths Society is a social group of walkers from the town of Morpeth and further afield who meet throughout the year for a regular walking programme, exploring and enjoying the fantastic countryside of Northumberland and at times its surrounding counties.

How to join: If you would like to join us on a walk to experience what it is all about, choose from one of the many walks you would like to accompany us on.

During the walk, you will be introduced to other walkers and one of our committee members will be able to answer any questions you may have.  As a guest member, a nominal sum of 1 is required to ensure you are covered by our walking insurance.  Any guest who fails to pay, is not covered.

A maximum of 2 walks can be taken as a guest and full membership would be expected thereafter.
