As Morpeth emerges from lockdown, More in Morpeth intend to produce a weekly update on what is happening - and what is not happening yet.

Car Parks are back to normal with the short stay and long stay rules in place, so please use your parking disks. On-street parking has been suspended in the town centre to facilitate social distancing. Traffic wardens are on duty.

The Riverside Leisure Centre and most other gyms have re-opened but all Riverside sessions have to be booked in advance


Morpeth Library are running a Select & Collect system – let them know what authors or genres you like (online or tel 01670 620390) and they’ll put together a bundle of books for you to collect from Manchester St by appointment.


Self catering and other holiday accommodation is re-opening. Look for the “Good to Go!” industry standard from Visit Britain.


The Town Hall is open for appointments only. Contact Registrars on 01670 627000 andTown Council on 01670 514314.


MTC run Play Areas are open but under stringent Covid-19 conditions


Some Public buildings such as the Morpeth Chantry Tourist Information & Craft Centre along with the Bagpipe Museum remain closed.


The Whorral Bank Household Waste Recovery Centre and town recycling banks is open with certain restrictions – for info on what can be taken there, see
