Carlisle Park is open all day, every day so it's always a great time to visit
The William Turner Garden is open from 8am till 6pm in the summer and from 8am till 3.30pm in the winter, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day when it is closed. Note though that the public conveniences provided by the Town Council are only open April-September.
The Park also boasts one of only four working Floral Clocks in the country.
The main park entrances at the Formal Gardens, Elliott Bridge and Oldgate Bridge, and The William Turner Garden are wheelchair accessible. There are some steep hills and steps in the park.
The Paddling Pool is very popular with visitors, hundreds of families visit each year. It opens on the Saturday of the second May Bank Holiday Weekend and stays open until the end of September. It is an unsupervised facility.
The main children's play area in the park is next to the Paddling Pool with he nearest entrance being at Elliott Bridge (New Market entrance).
The Park also has a Bowling Greens, tennis courts and a skateboard park.
You can also hire rowing boats or take a walk up to the castle or simply sit and watch the world go by - and in the south and west corners of the Park, there is mature deciduous woodland with very attractive - but also very hilly - woodland walks..« Back to Visit Morpeth
