Morpeth Heritage Walk - Blagdon to Belasis
Village Hall, Stannington, Morpeth, NE61 6EL
Thursday 13 September 12.45pm
This is a 5.5 mile circular walk from Stannington to Belasis and will include a visit to the normally closed Blagdon Hall, home of Lord Ridley. The walk will end with optional refreshments at the Ridley Arms, Stannington. No booking required. This is a guided walk of approximately 8.8 miles featuring the history of Harbottle Castle and Hall, Biddlestone Hall and the Biddlestones and Clennel Hall. Bring a picnic lunch. This walk can be muddy so come equipped for the weather. Meet at Harbottle Castle Car Park, NE65 7BB, on the A68. A tour of some of Morpeth's heritage sites conducted by members of Morpeth Poetry Group including child poets. We will be remembering a number of extraordinary women including Emily Wilding Davison, Lady Collingwood, Councillor Dorothy Robson and Alderman Isobel Smail. Pre-booking: Required.
